Selecting the right safe is crucial; it could be your last line of defence against burglary or fire.
A quality safe is a good investment. It should be independently tested and certified to prove it can withstand a burglary or fire. Furthermore it should be approved by AiS (Association of Insurance Surveyors) so your insurance company trusts you’ve bought a safe worthy of your valuables.
Many insurance companies require a safe to be installed once a certain level of jewellery is reached, usually around £50,000.
Electronic locking is the recommended preference over key locking, as they eliminate the risk of keys being lost, copied or stolen. In addition, they allow you to change your combination at regular intervals.
Once you have chosen a safe it must be properly installed. We would recommend meeting your insurance company’s fitment specifications limiting your exposure in the event of a claim. You can do this by using an approved safe company who offer a fully qualified installation service and warranty on your safe.
